Survelum Title: Children of God Title of Research: Reconstructing a Life: A Life Course Analysis of Women who Lived in a Controversial New Religious Movement. Researcher: Miriam W. Boeri Department Sociology, Geography, Anthropology and Criminal Justice Telephone Extension (678) 797-2069 mboeri@kennesaw.edu In this exploratory study, the researcher named above is collecting personal accounts from women who lived in a new religious movement called The Children of God, and later known as The Family of Love or The Family. Included in the research are only women who engaged in a practice known in the group as "Flirty Fishing" and who subsequently left the group. The women from this group were part of a natural social experiment, which has not yet been fully explored. The findings here will add to our understanding of how women re-construct their lives after living in closed communities with stigmatized practices. Your participation is voluntary.
